VIDEOS OF OVERCROWDED HALLWAYS AT SASKATOON HOSPITAL GO VIRAL

SASKATOON – A Saskatchewan hospital is going viral after video footage emerged online showing beds lining hallways and patients being treated in horrendous conditions.

“Saskatchewan used to be known for having the best healthcare in Canada but now we’re dead last,” said Keith Jorgenson, Saskatchewan NDP Associate Shadow Minister for Health.
“When our loved ones need emergency care, they deserve the best we can give them. Frankly, this makes me afraid to get sick while a Sask. Party government is in charge.”
The description of one video says it shows the hallways outside the Royal University Hospital (RUH) emergency room. The video states that patients had no privacy, with one reportedly needing a blood transfusion and another having cancer.
A second video shows the camera moving down the hallway, revealing just how many patients are crowded in the hallways without proper rooms.
Combined, the two videos had been viewed 240,000 times on Facebook as of Wednesday afternoon and have been featured on television news.
“This is not the image we want for Saskatchewan — people are leaving and others will refuse to come here when they see this,” Jorgenson said. “After 18 years, the Sask. Party government is out of ideas and they stopped caring a long time ago.
“We can’t keep expecting a brighter future if we have the same old government that broke healthcare in the first place. We need new ideas and big bold change to get our health system out of last place.”
