STATEMENT FROM SASKATCHEWAN NDP SHADOW MINISTER FOR ENERGY AND RESOURCES SALLY HOUSSER

For immediate release: May 14, 2025

I’ve spent a great deal of time with key players in the energy sector in Calgary and there is a genuine interest in a reset with Ottawa so we can start nation-building projects.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has said he wants to build our country, and we want to take him at his word, but he needs to clarify the comments made by Steven Guilbeault to the media today.

I would note Minister Guilbeault is no longer responsible for our energy sector or the environment. If he can’t let go of his old portfolio, he needs to get out of the way so we can start building, for the good of Saskatchewan and the good of Canada.

This is a moment to focus on our future.
