SCOTT MOE REFUSES TO HELP CASH-STRAPPED DRIVERS AS GAS PRICES HAVE BEEN OVER $1.50 FOR LITRE FOR 100 DAYS AND COUNTING

Carla Beck’s Team Has Put Forward A Series Of Immediate Actions To Make Life Affordable For Saskatchewan People
SASKATOON – Tomorrow will mark 100 days of gas prices in Saskatchewan being $1.50 per litre or higher — and 100-straight days of Scott Moe refusing to lift a finger to help drivers already buckling under the weight of rising costs.

For months, Scott Moe has refused to suspend his 15-cents-per-litre gas tax, which costs a family with two cars more than $700 per year.

“This is going to be such a brutally expensive summer for Saskatchewan families and Scott Moe doesn’t care,” said Darcy Warrington, Shadow Minister for Highways, Infrastructure & SGI.

“The federal government stepped up and suspended their fuel tax. Premiers in other provinces are taking major action to cut prices at the pump, at the grocery store checkout and more — and, all the while, Scott Moe is completely missing in action.”

Poll after poll has seen Saskatchewan people report higher financial anxiety than anywhere else in Canada.

“This is a Premier that will waste $26 billion on a catastrophic coal plan and then ask everyday Saskatchewan people to foot the bill,” Warrington said.

“Summer is supposed to be about getting outside, going to the lake, and spending time with friends. But we are hearing from people all the time who are staying home because they can’t keep up with the price of gas.

“Clearly, it's time for change.”
