Scott Moe’s Unfunded, Ideological Plan Will Double Power Bills By 2050
REGINA – Independent modelling conducted by Doug Ford’s energy firm reveals that Scott Moe and Jeremy Harrison’s uncosted energy plan risks bankrupting the people of Saskatchewan, and even the province itself, with its unfunded, ideological approach to the province’s energy future.
SASKATCHEWAN’S JOB MARKET TANKS AS UNEMPLOYMENT JUMPS TO 6.5%
Total employment in the province fell by 4,000 jobs last month — four per cent decline from November 2025.
Saskatchewan suffered the largest percentage decline in jobs of any province in Canada, causing the employment rate to rise to 6.5 per cent and surge to 15 per cent for young people age 15 to 24.
“Saskatchewan should be the place to be, not the place to be from,” said Carla Beck, Saskatchewan NDP Leader. “Saskatchewan is such a great province, and I want my kids, everyone’s kids, to build a life here and have opportunities here. That's why we need change.”
Last quarter, Saskatchewan’s population declined for the first time in two decades outside of the pandemic. Saskatchewan has gone from a growing province to a province where people are moving out after 18 years of the Sask. Party.
The number of unemployed last month increased by 5,900 to a staggering 42,700 people looking for work.
“If the Sask. Party can’t grow the economy, what are these guys good for?” said Aleana Young, Shadow Minister for Jobs and the Economy.
“Jobs and opportunities are down, power rates and taxes are up, and young people and skilled workers are leaving the province in droves.
“That's why we need to fire this tired, out-of-touch 18-year-old Sask. Party government.”
