SASK. PARTY GRASPING AT STRAWS, 98 PER CENT WILL BE HIT BY RATE HIKES

The Sask. Party government is desperately grasping at straws when they claim that some drivers will see “reductions in the cost of their insurance.”

You don't need to take our word for it. Here’s what page 3 of their own rate hike application says verbatim:
Customer impact
If SGI receives approval for the two increases with rebalancing, the 2026 rate change would mean:
  • rate increases for about 98% of Saskatchewan vehicles with an average annual increase of $38;
  • rate decreases for about 1% of Saskatchewan vehicles with an average annual reduction of $7; and,
  • no rate change for the remaining vehicles.
After 18 years, this tired and out-of-touch Sask. Party will say anything to cling on to power.
