Moe’s Education Minister Says No Schools Delayed, Campbell Collegiate Principal Says Otherwise
REGINA — The principal of Campbell Collegiate in Regina has told parents that their school renovation is indeed being delayed due to this year’s “bad news” budget — this despite repeated claims over two weeks by Scott Moe and his Education Minister that no schools are being delayed.
REGINA PRINCIPAL CONFIRMS SCHOOL PROJECTS ARE DELAYED DUE TO BAD NEWS BUDGET
In a letter sent to families on March 30, 2026, the principal at Campbell wrote, “some projects have been deferred until next fiscal year, including the planned renovations at Campbell Collegiate.” The principal went onto say, “I understand that this delay may be frustrating.”
This comes after days of calls from Carla Beck’s team to the Minister of Education to release a list of projects that have been delayed or cancelled due to the province’s cuts to education funding.
“Families and school administrators know that this ‘bad news’ budget is devastating for our education system, which is bursting at the seams,” said Matt Love, Shadow Minister for Education. “The Minister claims that no projects have been delayed. How can he say that when school administrators are having to share news of delays and project cancellations with families?”
Campbell Collegiate, the largest high school in Regina by population, was expecting renovations to address parts of the building that have become structurally unstable. Other projects known to be cancelled or stalled are the school building project in the Town of Carlyle and a joint use school in Regina’s The Towns area has also been delayed.
“This government’s record is one of broken promises, no matter how they try to spin it,” Love said. “It’s time for change.”
