REALITY CHECK: SASK. PARTY CAN’T HIRE HEALTHCARE WORKERS

The Sask. Party government is driving healthcare workers out of Saskatchewan.
As of this morning, there were 1,674 vacant healthcare job postings that the Sask. Party is struggling to fill, according to HealthCareersInSask and SaskDocs. Some of these postings have even been vacant for over a year.
We need to staff up our healthcare system – something the Saskatchewan NDP has been calling for for years.
But with the Sask. Party in charge, today’s announcement will only amount to 77 more vacant job postings that this tired and out-of-touch government will fail to fill.
That’s because the Sask. Party isn’t listening to healthcare workers or to local communities, and they haven’t given our healthcare workers a raise in over three years.
After 18 years in power, the Sask. Party broke our healthcare system, and they can’t be trusted to fix it.
It’s time for a government that’s focused on the future, that works collaboratively with current healthcare workers to support and retain them, and that works around the clock to recruit more people to work in Saskatchewan hospitals.
