REGINA - Today, NDP Critic for Highways, Infrastructure, and Transportation Trent Wotherspoon called on the provincial government to stop leaving federal dollars on the table and act to improve options for transportation in communities left isolated by Sask. Party’s cancellation of STC and the end of Greyhound bus services.

Today my thoughts are with the families of the critically ill patients who are being sent out-of-province because the Sask. Party failed to support our health system. Unfortunately, due to lack of planning and unwillingness to put patients and the people of this province first, our only option is to send patients across the country to receive care. It’s unacceptable.

REGINA - In light of last week’s high test positivity rate among youth in Saskatchewan and hundreds of Saskatchewan schools impacted by COVID-19 cases across the province, Official Opposition Education Critic Carla Beck called on the province to proactively create a plan to rollout vaccinations to kids aged 5-11 in advance of their approval and to create a pre-registration program to accelerate the rollout.

SASKATOON - In light of today’s announcement that the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be taking over all for-profit Extendicare Long-Term Care facilities in Saskatchewan, Official Opposition Critic for Seniors Matt Love welcomed the announcement that the Sask. Party is moving away from the deadly for-profit care but questioned why it took so long for the province to act on known dangerous and deadly living conditions at Extendicare facilities in Saskatchewan in the first place.

REGINA - In light of news that pediatric treatments and therapies have been suspended as a result of staff redeployment throughout the health system, Education and Early Years Critic Carla Beck is calling on the province to reach out to neighbouring provinces and accept the federal offer for much-needed personnel to allow treatments and therapies for Saskatchewan’s most vulnerable kids to resume.
