Sask. Party Focused On Themselves, Not On Future Of Province
REGINA – Scott Moe has left behind critical issues facing Saskatchewan to hold a fireside chat at an Ottawa conference hosted by a separatist.
Moe is due to speak at the Strong and Free Conference, the architect of which, Preston Manning, recently published an op-ed in the Globe & Mail giving license to Western separatism.
“The trade war is hurting our economy, threatening jobs and draining the hard-earned retirement savings of Saskatchewan people,” said Saskatchewan NDP Shadow Minister for Trade and Export Development Kim Breckner.
“With so many issues in the province right now – the Trump threat to our economy, the healthcare crisis, the drug crisis – I think Saskatchewan people expect their Premier to be working around the clock, not rubbing shoulders with MAGA-loving separatists.”
According to a public agenda, Sask. Party Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill and former Sask. Party Justice Minister Bronwyn Eyre will also be in attendance at the separatist conference. Both Eyre and Cockrill are rumored to be soliciting support for potential Sask. Party leadership challenges.
Cockrill did not deny that he is considering running for Sask. Party Leader when asked earlier this week by CTV. Former Sask. United Leader Jon Hromek has already announced that he’ll throw his hat in the ring.
“After 18 years in power and a large decline in the last election, the knives are out for Scott Moe,” said Breckner. “The Sask. Party is more focused on fighting amongst themselves than on the very serious issues facing Saskatchewan people and the steps we need to take to build a bright future for our province.”
