CARLA BECK TALKS TO YOUNG AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS ABOUT BUILDING A FUTURE IN SASKATCHEWAN

Saskatchewan NDP Leader Touts New Project To Deliver Change For Young People At YourFutureYourSay.ca

SASKATOON – Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck spent the morning Thursday speaking with young agricultural producers about building their careers, businesses, and raising their families right here in Saskatchewan.

“Know that stepping up to run the family farm is a big deal,” Beck told attendees at the Sask Young Ag’s Proudly Ag Conference at the Western Development Museum.

“You’re carrying on a proud tradition for your family, for your community, for this incredible province we call home.

“All of you young leaders — our future — you are innovative, you are cutting edge and you know that farming is more than just a way to make a living, it’s a way of life,” Beck added.

On Wednesday, the Saskatchewan NDP launched an ambitious new project at YourFutureYourSay.ca. The project will see Beck tour the province and speak with young adults at events specifically created for them to share their ideas and priorities for Saskatchewan. The project is launched as Saskatchewan has seen its population decline for the first time in 20 years.

“Choosing to make Saskatchewan your home, to build a career and raise your families — that’s huge,” Beck said. “This is your province and you get to shape what comes next.”

Visitors to YourFutureYourSay.ca can also share their ideas through an online form. The project will culminate with the release of policy proposals specifically designed and focused on keeping young people in Saskatchewan.
