AS SCOTT MOE MARKS 8 YEARS, SASKATCHEWAN PEOPLE SUFFER UNDER HIS FAILED LEADERSHIP

Official Opposition’s ‘Accomplishment Cake’ For Premier Points Out Rising Costs, Record Debt & Declining Population
REGINA – Eight years of Scott Moe as Premier and life is more expensive; healthcare is in worse shape than ever, and Saskatchewan is seeing its first population decline in two decades.

Saskatchewan NDP MLAs tried to make a worthwhile “accomplishment cake” for Moe and hold a party to mark his eighth anniversary Monday, but all they could come up with was failure after failure.

“We look forward to the Scott Moe retirement party a lot more,” said Jared Clarke, Saskatchewan NDP Shadow Minister for Rural & Remote Health. “Eight years of this failed Premier and 18 years of this disastrous government and the bottom line is things are worse than ever.”

“We see a government that ignores and gaslights frontline workers and now we have a failed Premier in Scott Moe openly talking about a move to two-tier American-style healthcare where his rich friends can jump the line to get care and everyone else will suffer.”

Brent Blakley, Saskatchewan NDP Shadow Minister for Parks, Culture & Sport, said the Premier has flatly refused to listen to desperate families who are struggling to make ends meet.

“I really hope the Premier reflects on his record today — there really isn’t anything to be proud of.” Blakley said.

“Cost of living? Up.

“Homelessness? Up.

“Violent crime? Up.

“I talk to people everyday who are tired of this Sask. Party Government. They waste money at record levels and it’s everyday Saskatchewan people that are left to foot the bill.”

Under Moe, the provincial debt has soared to $40 billion — over half of that has been racked up since he took the Premier’s chair in 2018.

“It will be future generations that pay for this Premier’s failures,” said Jacqueline Roy, Saskatchewan NDP Shadow Minister for Women’s Health & Status of Women.

“People are worried about healthcare, they’re worried about jobs, they’re worried about crime, and all of this is leading them to leave Saskatchewan altogether.

“That’s not what we want. It’s time for a Saskatchewan NDP Government that will cut the cost of living, fix healthcare, and make our communities safer.

“It’s time for change.”
