SCOTT MOE TARGETS DRIVERS WITH INSURANCE TAX HIKE
“This rate-hike plan should be withdrawn immediately. It’s time for change.”
This latest Sask. Party tax grab will mean 98 per cent of Saskatchewan vehicles will see their rates go up. The government says in their application that about one per cent of Saskatchewan vehicles will see an average annual reduction of $7.
“After 18 years of Sask. Party mismanagement of SGI, these rate hikes are only the beginning,” said Hugh Gordon, Shadow Minister for SGI. “Despite what the Minister might claim, these hikes are hardly modest. They are not reasonable, and the people of Saskatchewan should not be used as a piggy bank to cover the costs of their mismanagement.”
“This application is a truck tax, a death tax, and tax on public safety all rolled into one,” said Darcy Warrington, Saskatchewan NDP MLA for Saskatoon Stonebridge. “The people of Saskatchewan deserve so much better than this.”
