SASKATCHEWAN PUBLIC SAFETY CRISIS WORSENS WHILE MOE SITS ON HIS HANDS

Saskatchewan RCMP Saw Over 400,000 Calls For Service In 2025
PRINCE ALBERT – Scott Moe’s Prince Albert MLAs owe their constituents answers as to why they've been sitting on their hands and refusing to act on the skyrocketing violent crime that is happening under their watch, according to data released by the RCMP.

"People deserve to feel safe in their communities, but under the Sask. Party communities are getting less and less safe, while Scott Moe just sits by and watches it happen," said Hugh Gordon, Associate Shadow Minister for Crime, Corrections & Public Safety.

"By every single measure, Scott Moe and his team of MLA's have made Saskatchewan the least safe province in Canada with the highest levels of violent crime. This is unacceptable and it's clear that change is urgently needed."

Data released by the Saskatchewan RCMP paint a grim picture of the state of public safety under Scott Moe. Some of the most damning stats include:
  • In 2025 there were 13,445 assaults which means there were 37 a day,
  • The are 5,600 more victims of reported violent crime than there were 10 years ago, and the RCMP reports that the victims are experiencing more severe forms of violence,
  • There has been a steady increase of assaults on peace officers, with 587 peace officers being the victims of crime in 2024 alone,
  • In 2025, 26 per cent of all violent crime was categorized as intimate partner violence by the RCMP,
  • Between 2016-2025 motor vehicle theft increased by 24 per cent.
"Behind each of these numbers is a person, a family and community who has been victimized by crime,” Gordon said.

"They all deserve better than being ignored by Scott Moe and his Ministers. They deserve a real plan to not only get tough on crime, but to tackle the root causes to ensure that we finally put an end to the runaway crime Scott Moe has allowed to take root in Saskatchewan."

In the most recent provincial budget, Scott Moe made the decision to spend three times more servicing the provincial debt funding community policing. Not a single Sask. Party MLA spoke out against or voted against this disgraceful decision.

"After eight years with Scott Moe as Premier and 20 years with the Sask. Party as government, Saskatchewan has never been less safe," said Gordon.

"Those people who have been victims of crime deserve better, they deserve a real strategy, and a government that takes this seriously.

"It’s clearly time for change."
