REALITY CHECK: SCOTT MOE REFUSES TO DENY ATTENDANCE AT NORTHERN GOLF CLASSIC

SASKATOON – The Sask. Party’s current leader refused to answer today whether or not he will be in attendance at his Northern Golf Classic, a partisan political fundraiser to fill his campaign war chest.

Moe says that he has caucus meetings ahead of him – also not clarifying whether or not his caucus meetings are being held at the Elk Ridge Resort.
The area where the Sask. Party is holding their exclusive golf fundraiser has been impacted by wildfires throughout the summer.

The nearby Buhl fire is still classified as “Not Contained,” Parks Canada had to issue a warning in July that visitors should stay away from neighbouring Prince Albert National Park, and the only highway in or out of the region, Highway 2, has closed multiple times due to wildfire activity.

The Sask. Party’s widespread failures to respond to the wildfire crisis have prompted a formal investigation by the Provincial Ombudsman.
The Saskatchewan NDP and local people impacted by the fires continue to demand Moe cancel his golf trip and meet them face-to-face in their devastated communities only a short drive away.
