Today, NDP Leader Trent Wotherspoon made the following statement:
“As details continue to come in about the horrifying and almost unimaginable attack last night in Orlando, Florida, on behalf of Saskatchewan New Democrats, I extend my thoughts, prayers, and sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and all affected.
Saskatchewan’s employment numbers continued the troubling trend this month. The latest figures from Statistics Canada show that 9,500 jobs were lost in Saskatchewan’s private and public sectors since this time last year. Among these losses, 7,200 were mortgage-paying, family-supporting full-time jobs.
Yesterday, the Sask. Party tabled its private CT scan bill – something they campaigned on. What they didn’t campaign on was giving themselves the power to make Saskatchewan people pay out-of-pocket for other private medical imaging procedures without any public debate or consultation.
More cuts and clawbacks in store for other Saskatchewan urban parks
Due to a lack of funding in the provincial budget, the Meewasin Valley Authority announced today that its Interpretive Centre will shut down on July 1 and with it three full time jobs will be lost as well as public programs.
