Mother, Opposition call for investigation after daughter dies in hospital without doctor

Policy change needed after bruised body tangled in tubes presented to family

REGINA - Today, Official Opposition Leader Carla Beck and Regina University MLA Aleana Young stood with Gwen Gilbert and called for an investigation into the death of Gwen’s daughter, Andrea Parmar. Andrea tragically lost her life after the Yorkton Regional Health Centre was operating without a doctor in the ICU.

Scott Moe’s Sask. Party government closed services at 53 hospitals

Moe gov’t withholds complete hospital data for 11 months until Privacy Commissioner stepped in

REGINA - Today, Official Opposition Leader Carla Beck and Rural and Remote Health Critic Matt Love responded to new SHA data. The data reveals that the Moe government has closed services at a minimum of 53 hospitals since 2019. Ethics and Democracy Critic Meara Conway also blasted the Moe government for withholding this information for nearly a year until the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner got involved.

REGINA - Today, Official Opposition Critic for First Nations and Métis Relations Betty Nippi-Albright and Opposition Justice and Corrections Critic Nicole Sarauer were joined by Indigenous Women Leaders from across Saskatchewan, as well as the Elizabeth Fry Society, to jointly call on the government to take immediate action to address the overrepresentation of Indigenous women in provincial correctional centres.
