SCOTT MOE HIDES CRITICAL EMERGENCY ROOM DISRUPTION MAP

Carla Beck’s Team Sends Petitions To Local Leaders Urging Provincial Government to Release Real-Time Map of Healthcare Closures
SASKATOON – Carla Beck’s team is accusing Scott Moe of deliberately withholding critical real-time data about emergency room closures that can be the difference between life and death.

Internal data from the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) leaked to the Saskatchewan NDP, shows that government officials can access an up-to-date map of service disruptions at any time.

MLA Keith Jorgenson, Associate Shadow Minister for Health, addressed media on Wednesday while standing among more than 500 packages being sent to municipal leaders across the province. Included in each package is a copy of the internal SHA memo and a petition urging them to demand the immediate public release of the disruptions map.

“Scott Moe has the information at his fingertips that can be the difference between life and death,” Jorgenson said. “He knows what is happening in our hospitals in real time — why don’t the people of Saskatchewan?

“The Sask. Party has spent two decades driving healthcare into the ground instead of delivering needed big, bold change. I’m inviting municipal leaders to take a stand for their communities. We don’t have to settle for this.”

Rural communities are being hit hard, facing repeated emergency room closures, chronic short staffing, and last-minute service disruptions. In 2026 alone, the Saskatchewan NDP has documented hundreds of ER closures across rural Saskatchewan.

“People are showing up to emergency rooms that aren’t open. Families are left scrambling. Frontline workers are stretched beyond the breaking point,” Jorgenson said.

“This government cannot be trusted to act on its own. That’s why we’re asking local leaders to step up and force transparency. The data exists. The only question is why Scott Moe is hiding it.”

Carla Beck's team continues to consult on major changes needed to deliver big, bold change in healthcare. Residents are invited to share input and ideas at YourCareYourSay.ca.
