KEVIN WEEDMARK LIES TO CONSTITUENTS ABOUT BEING EXONERATED IN HIS GROWING CONFLICT INTEREST SCANDAL

Weedmark Lies While Continuing To Hide From Media And Saskatchewan Residents
REGINA – Embattled and out of touch Sask. Party MLA Kevin Weedmark is now flat out lying to his constituents by claiming he was exonerated in his growing conflict of interest scandal, when nothing could be further from the truth.

"First, Kevin Weedmark hid from questions and basic accountability that the people of Saskatchewan have been demanding," said Shadow Minister of Health Meara Conway.

"Now, he appears to be lying to his own constituents in claiming he’s been exonerated by the Conflict of Interest Commissioner. Declaring that he has been cleared when the Commissioner hasn't even responded to our letter is the height of Sask. Party entitlement.”

On Tuesday, Carla Beck's team submitted a 23-page letter outlining a series of concerns about Weedmark's conduct. Rather than responding to the specific and detailed allegations, Weedmark chose to share an unrelated opinion from the Commissioner.

Weedmark even claimed to the Commissioner that the expensive luxury trips he took were personal or done out of the goodness of his heart when he had his newspaper employee tag along and use the images taken from these trips to promote him in his MLA communications in the newspaper that he owns.

“The Commissioner has not yet responded to my letter — and hasn’t cleared Weedmark of a thing,” Conway said.

In the six weeks since Weedmark's out of touch, extravagant actions were revealed he has hidden from the public, speaking to only one media outlet for the first time yesterday.

"Kevin Weedmark voted against every single affordability measure we put before the Legislature. He and his colleagues are presiding over the worst child poverty rates in Canada. Yet he spent $28,000 on two plane trips while one of his newspaper employees generated content for his social media page, and the newspaper that he owns," Conway said.

"This is perhaps the epitome of an out of touch and entitled MLA, an attitude that has come to define a Sask. Party government that is so far past its best before date. Everyday Saskatchewan people come to us looking for change.

"And Kevin. That change is coming sooner than you think."
