Betty is a Saulteaux and Cree mother, grandmother and MLA for Saskatoon Centre.

Before her election in 2020, she worked for over twenty years in her constituency as a community developer and primary health facilitator. Her passion for serving others inspired her to sit on various boards and committees at the provincial and national levels as well as volunteer her time to local causes like United Way of Saskatoon, Saskatoon Heart & Stroke Foundation and the YWCA. Betty is the first generation in her family to graduate university, having attained degrees in political studies and Aboriginal public administration.
