Betty was elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in 2020 as the MLA for Saskatoon Centre.
Betty is a Saulteaux and Cree mother and grandmother. She is the first generation in her family to become a university graduate, having attained her Masters Degree in Political Studies and an Honours Degree in Aboriginal Public Administration.
Betty has worked in the constituency of Saskatoon Centre for over twenty years as a Community Developer and Primary Health Facilitator. In her work, she focused on education, mental health & addictions, and policy and partnership development.
Betty has a long history of working with others to strengthen her community, having served on boards and committees at the regional, provincial, and national levels. She volunteered on the United Way of Saskatoon, Saskatoon Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, YWCA, and other community groups.
