Statement by Carla Beck in support of Catholic School Boards’ decision to appeal court ruling

Today, NDP Education Critic Carla Beck issued the following statement:

“New Democrats stand firmly in support of publicly funded education in Saskatchewan which includes both our Public and Catholic systems.

“We are encouraged by the Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association’s decision to appeal the court ruling to ban funding for non-Catholic students in Catholic schools. From the beginning, we have said, in order to move forward, both time and clarity are needed. While the Sask. Party’s grandstanding and deceitful messaging have provided neither, this appeal will provide both.”
