Elected in 2016, Nicole is the MLA for the constituency of Regina Douglas Park.
Nicole Sarauer grew up in Regina, attending St. Josaphat and Michael A. Riffel High School before studying at the University of Regina and finally the University of Saskatchewan, where she completed a Juris Doctorate in Law with Honours in 2009.
She returned to Regina and practiced law at Kanuka Thuringer LLP until 2011, when she gave up her job at the law firm to move to practice at a provincial charity which provides free legal representation to those who need access to the justice system, but can't afford it.
Sarauer was elected in 2012 as a Trustee of the Regina Catholic School Board. She has been a vocal advocate for education administration and the government to consult, and listen to teachers and parents when it comes to education.
Nicole is committed to grassroots volunteerism. She has served as a volunteer with the Regina Sexual Assault Centre; a board member for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers; a board member of Regina’s chapter of Amnesty International; and a volunteer and board member with the YWCA Big Sisters program.
Her volunteer and pro bono work was recognized recently when, at the age of 27, she was named one of the CBC and Metro’s Future 40, which highlighted the top local community leaders under the age of 40.
