"The residents of Moose Jaw have simple, reasonable questions when it comes to this data centre, including questions around how the Sask. Party went from cutting the ribbon for this project to claiming they were never considering it," said Kim Breckner, Shadow Minister of Trade and Export Development.
"I am grateful to the people of Moose Jaw for coming out, engaging with our team, and sharing their thoughts, ideas and questions for us to take back to the government to get answers for. We will not stop pushing until we finally get this government to be transparent."
Neither of the Sask. Party's Moose Jaw MLAs showed up to hear from their constituents, and since the project’s launch, their only public advocacy effort has been MLA Megan Patterson’s participation in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
"The people of Moose Jaw have shown tremendous leadership through their questions, advocacy, and willingness to stand up for their community. While residents continue to fight for answers, the Sask. Party has chosen to sit on their hands, ignore their concerns, gaslight them, and dismiss them," said Brittney Senger, Shadow Minister of Technology, Innovation and A.I.
"We have been demanding transparency since day one. The Sask. Party is hiding behind redactions, FOI fees, and just plugging their ears and ignoring what their own constituents are telling them. Following this open house, Carla Beck's team will ensure that no government can hide from accountability like this again."
In their application for the data centre filed in February 2026, the proponent Aztec said that the Sask. Party government had expressed "overwhelming support for the new redevelopment of Valley View."
"Why was the Sask. Party cutting ribbons for a project they weren't seriously considering? Why cut ribbons on a project SaskPower suddenly doesn't have capacity for? These are just two of the questions that Megan Patterson and Tim McLeod don't think they have to answer," said Aleana Young, Shadow Minister of Jobs, Economy, and SaskPower.
"People want to know what the approvals are, what the environmental impacts will be, and whether it will affect their power bills. Simple things that any government with nothing to hide would be more than willing to share.
"Our message to the Sask. Party, and to Tim McLeod and Megan Patterson, is simple. It is a real privilege to spend time meeting with and talking to the people of Moose Jaw. You should try it sometime.
