Job Description:
Located in Regina, the Director of Administration and Human Resources will assist the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party Caucus with the efficient and effective management of all administrative, financial and human resources available to the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party Caucus Office and the Leader of the Official Opposition’s Office.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all revenues and expenditures for the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party Caucus Office and the Leader of the Opposition’s Office to ensure that all approved budgets are adhered to and that all revenues and expenditure comply with the rules and regulations as set out by the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly.
- Be responsible for the administration of all Accounts Payable for both the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party Caucus Office and the Leader of the Official Opposition’s Office.
- Be responsible for the Annual Audit and term Audit of the New Democratic Party Office.
- Assist members of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party Caucus with their year-end budgets.
- Assist Members of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party Caucus with issues pertaining to their constituency assistants and their constituency offices.
- Oversee recruitment efforts to source and select the right candidates. Manage all recruitment advertising and facilitate selection of candidates.
- Be directly responsible for the supervision of all Clerical Support Staff with the Caucus Office and the Leader’s Office.
- Be directly responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Caucus Office and the Leader’s Office.
- Serve as Secretary to the Caucus, maintain all caucus meeting minutes.
- Serve as Secretary to the Caucus Administration Committee, maintain all caucus administration committee meeting minutes.
- Assist and advise the Chief of Staff and Administration Committee with respect to all negotiation related to Caucus Office Staff.
- Manage employee relations and address performance gaps constructively.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Degree in human resources, business administration or a related field preferred (or an equivalent of education and experience).
- Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounting Program and familiarity with basic bookkeeping and accounts payable.
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills, with a proven ability to provide clear direction and response in a variety of circumstances.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, communications, problem solving and performance management.
- Knowledge of labour laws and regulations to ensure compliance is an asset.
- Must have a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
- Membership in good standing with the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party.
