CARLA BECK’S TEAM STANDS WITH 200 CUPE HEALTHCARE WORKERS AT LEGISLATURE RALLY FOR FAIR WAGES

Scott Moe’s Bad News Budget Does Nothing To Support, Recruit Or Retain Frontline Healthcare Workers
REGINA – Carla Beck’s team stood Wednesday with hundreds of frontline healthcare workers to demand fair wages in the wake of Scott Moe’s bad news budget.

“Time and time again healthcare workers have to work a 12-hour shift and then go to the food bank just to keep up with the cost-of-living crisis,” said Carla Beck, Saskatchewan NDP Leader.

“The Sask. Party has driven healthcare in Saskatchewan into the ground and their bad news budget is only to make care worse. We will lose workers because this government isn’t even trying to work with them at this point.

Many healthcare workers have not received a raise in four years, while Scott Moe has handed over massive pay bumps to Saskatchewan Health Authority executives, several of which have close campaign ties to Moe.

“Scott Moe is throwing away money to AIMS and to cover out-of-province mammograms while healthcare workers are left hungry and unsupported,” said Nathaniel Teed, Labour Shadow Minister.

“We need big, bold change to get healthcare out of last place, and Scott Moe’s bad news budget has no plans to fix it.

“Clearly, it's time for change”.
