CARLA BECK’S TEAM IS BACK IN YORKTON WITH A ROADMAP FOR THE FUTURE OF SASKATCHEWAN HEALTHCARE

Scott Moe’s Broken Healthcare System Continues To Let Yorkton Down, Carla Beck Promises Actual Solutions
YORKTON – Today, MLA Jared Clarke, Shadow Minister for Rural and Remote Health, is back in Yorkton to discuss the newly released Your Care, Your Say interim report and to re-affirm the Saskatchewan NDP’s commitment to rebuilding healthcare in the community.

Last November, Clarke, along with Leader Carla Beck and Meara Conway, Shadow Minister for Health, hosted a town hall in Yorkton during the first phase of the Your Care, Your Say consultation. This town hall, along with the 1,000 other discussions that took place across this province, provided a key foundation to the interim report and the further solutions to come.

“The problems we heard in Yorkton became common themes we saw across so many communities in this province — folks unable to find a family doctor, frontline staff feeling burnt out and unheard, capacity issues in the hospital,” said Clarke. “What we heard, is that this is a healthcare system in crisis.”

Clarke further reiterated the commitment that, under a Carla Beck government, Yorkton would finally see the new hospital actually come to fruition — a commitment that the Sask. Party government has long promised with little follow through.

Talks of replacing the hospital began back in 2011, however as of March 2026, the government touted that the project is still only in the “pre-design phase” and has provided little indication on further timelines beyond this stage.

“The Sask. Party government has had 15 years to get this new hospital on the ground, and yet, we continue to see them patting themselves on the back for getting the bare minimum done,” Clarke said.

“This is a regional hospital that services many communities in the southeast region of Saskatchewan — including communities in Manitoba — they deserve to have an adequate facility so that they can provide adequate care to those who need it."
