BECK TELLS CUPE WORKERS "WE’VE GOT YOUR BACK" AS TRADE WAR THREATENS SASKATCHEWAN

Sask. NDP Leader Calls for Major Investments in Infrastructure and Healthcare to Secure Province’s Future

REGINA – Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck addressed CUPE members Friday, calling for bold investments in infrastructure and public services to protect Saskatchewan, now and into the future.

“Every other province immediately responded to Trump’s tariffs… Once again, Saskatchewan was last,” Beck said. “Scott Moe and the Sask. Party may want to roll over, but we are ready to fight.”

“Saskatchewan and Canada will never be the 51st state. Not a chance in hell.”

Beck pledged that a Sask. NDP government would strengthen trade relationships and expand global markets.

She outlined the Sask. NDP’s plan to Build Canada, including expanding rail and port capacity, constructing a pipeline to the East Coast, strengthening power transmission, and twinning Highway 1 from coast to coast.

Beck also pledged to get Saskatchewan healthcare and education out of last place.

“This government has asked you to shoulder the weight of their mismanagement,” Beck said.

"Healthcare workers haven’t seen a raise in three years. It’s no wonder we are losing healthcare workers faster than any other province.”

“The solutions we’re bringing forward on healthcare and so much more — they came from you. It’s going to take all of us, working together, but that brighter future is worth the fight.”
