AS MOE VISITS LLOYDMINSTER, BECK’S TEAM DEMANDS ANSWERS ON WEEDMARK’S LUXURY PRIVATE JET TRAVEL

High-Flying, Luxury Dining MLA Has Been In Hiding For More Than A Week As Questions Swirl Over Travel Connected to Government Business
LLOYDMINSTER — As Scott Moe visits Lloydminster, Carla Beck’s team is demanding he finally provide clear answers and documentation about MLA Kevin Weedmark’s use of a private luxury jet to attend a government announcement in the city.

“Scott Moe and his MLA both think they’re — literally — above being accountable to everyday Saskatchewan people,” said Meara Conway, Shadow Health Minister. “First, they denied Lloydminster access to the healthcare needs assessment this community fought for. Now, we learn they’re flying around on fancy jets while the people down in Lloydminster and across Saskatchewan struggle to make ends meet and access basic healthcare.”

On Aug. 27, Weedmark flew from Moosomin to Lloydminster aboard a luxury private jet to attend a government announcement for new sober-living spaces. Lloydminster Sask. Party MLA Colleen Young was already present at the announcement.

Weedmark then continued to Saskatoon aboard the jet, where he attended another government-related event before returning to Moosomin. His jet also made an expensive pit stop in Regina to drop off a staffer — it’s not clear if she works for Weedmark’s constituency office, for his newspaper, or both. And, so far, Weedmark has refused to clarify this despite it raising obvious and serious ethical issues.

“Scott Moe is in Lloydminster today, so he has an opportunity to answer the question his government has been ducking for weeks: Why did Kevin Weedmark need to take a luxury private jet here for a government announcement where the local MLA was already present?” Conway said. “Why won’t he do the simplest thing in the world — produce the receipts showing he paid the full cost himself, that he received no special treatment or financial benefit, and that not a single dime was charged to the public?

“Weedmark says there’s nothing see here? Not a single person I’ve spoken to buys that. If he has nothing to hide, he would show the receipts today.”

The Aug. 27 trip was not the only time Weedmark has been documented travelling by private jet for government-related business.

A separate video showed Weedmark using the same private aircraft for a trip to Saskatoon in 2025 that included visits to Jim Pattison Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.

Beck's team has repeatedly called on Weedmark and Moe to disclose how many times Weedmark has used private aircraft while conducting government business and provide documentation proving public money was not used.

“For the people I’m hearing from, this is about basic accountability,” said Jordan McPhail, Shadow Minister for Ethics & Democracy. “People work hard for their money. They expect their government and their elected officials to respect every dollar and to be transparent about how government business is conducted.

“Scott Moe is the Premier. Kevin Weedmark is a member of his caucus. Moe has the ability to demand these answers today. If taxpayers truly didn't pay one cent, if nothing here was corrupt or shady, then show Saskatchewan people the proof and put the question to rest.”

McPhail said the continual refusal to release documentation speaks to a larger issue of accountability after 20 years of Sask. Party government.

“These guys have clearly been in power far too long,” McPhail said. “It’s time for change.”
