Trent Wotherspoon was elected in November of 2007.
Trent was born and raised in northwest Regina. He earned a Bachelor of Education, business and math after-degree program, and has taken graduate studies in Educational Administration and undergraduate studies in Business Administration.
Prior to entering politics Trent developed and managed within the community an innovative and nationally recognized and modeled youth justice program for young offenders of “highest-risk” upon release from custody.
As an educator with Regina Public Schools, Trent assisted in the development and delivery of a new campus for adult students. Trent also led the development and delivery of a holistic vocational adaptation program for students displaying severe violent behaviours and that functioned lower cognitively.
Previously, Trent worked with Ranch Ehrlo Society delivering addictions and behavioural treatment. Trent has a background in business as an entrepreneur, through business studies and as a past Director with the Business Improvement District for the City of Regina’s Warehouse District.
Trent is active within the community serving as a volunteer coach with the Outdoor Hockey League and Monday Night Football League within Rosemont, member of the YMCA, the Regina Wildlife Federation, the Rosemont/Mount Royal Community Association and is involved in numerous charities.
Trent’s wife Stephanie is a middle-years school teacher and is highly involved in coaching and volunteerism. Together they engage in the many diverse cultural, arts and sporting events that enrich Regina and Saskatchewan. Trent enjoys the outdoors, particularly fishing, hunting and canoeing, and sports, such as, hockey, football, rugby, running, water-sports, squash and fitness.
