Vicki Mowat was elected as the MLA for Saskatoon Fairview in a byelection on September 7, 2017.

Prior to being elected, Vicki worked as an Executive Assistant to the Associate Dean of Aboriginal Affairs in the College of Arts & Science at the University of Saskatchewan.  She also previously worked as a Sessional Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Saskatchewan.

Vicki and her family settled in Saskatoon after spending her early childhood in the small town of Pincher Creek, a ranching town in southwestern Alberta.  After graduating from E.D. Feehan Catholic High School she enrolled in the University of Saskatchewan.  Vicki holds both a Bachelor of Arts Honours and a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Master of Public Administration from the Royal Military College of Canada.

As a young adult, Vicki was actively involved in the Air Cadet program.  Upon graduating from the cadet program, she enrolled as an officer in the Canadian Forces Reserves and worked with 2293 The North Saskatchewan Regiment Army Cadet Corps. In her time at the corps, the cadet unit grew from 25 to 125.  As Commanding Officer of 2293 Army Cadets, Vicki was also instrumental in the startup of 3071 The North Saskatchewan Regiment Army Cadet Corps, overseeing its creation in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill Community School and remaining actively involved in its weekly operations throughout her tenure.

In January 2013, she received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, presented to honour Canadians making significant contributions to the country.  She is a Retired Captain of the Canadian Forces Reserves, and has instructed adult officers and teenage cadets from across the country.

In her spare time, Vicki enjoys biking, running along the South Saskatchewan River, curling at the CN rink, and acrylic painting.   Vicki is a cooking enthusiast at home, and enjoys visiting local restaurants. She lives in west Saskatoon with her partner Grayson, a teacher.
