The Conservatives

Who's interests do the Sask. Party care about? The people of Saskatchewan, or Stephen Harper and the Federal Conservatives in Ottawa?

"It has been increasingly hard not to notice that the Saskatchewan Party and federal Conservatives in Saskatchewan have had virtually interchangeable parts in the past year or so -- from candidates fronting both parties to the backroom strategists and fundraisers who now have virtually no problem moving back and forth between the two."

-Prince Albert Daily Herald, October 5, 2006

While the Saskatchewan Party is quick to note it has no formal relationship with any federal party, the personal connections are indisputable. (MPs Tom Lukiwski and Brad Farquhar were Saskatchewan Party general managers, Revenue Minister Carol Skelton was on the Saskatchewan Party executive and served on former party leader Elwin Hermanson's constituency association and MP Lynn Yelich worked for MLA Allan Kerpan when he was an MP).

As the media have pointed out, the connections between the Saskatchewan Party and the Federal Conservatives are many and varied. This helps explain why Brad Wall and the Sask. Party were so quick to condemn the Liberals on the equalization file, yet they continue to defend Conservative inaction.

Saskatchewan people deserve a premier who will stand up to the prime minister when the interests of our great province are at risk. Brad Wall has gone out of his way to defend and protect his friend Stephen Harper, instead of defending the interests of Saskatchewan people. Brad Wall wants you to believe he is looking after your interests, but his personal relationships with the Harper Conservatives make it clear he is choosing his friends in Ottawa over the rest of us.
