Alberta Envy

The Wall government have never hidden their envy of all things Albertan. They often unfavourably compare Saskatchewan to Alberta.

"Ideologically, Saskatchewan's new centre-right Saskatchewan Party government resembles nothing so much as Alberta's long-serving Progressive Conservatives."
-The Leader Post, September 5, 2008

Brad Wall even told a Calgary business crowd there is something wrong with Saskatchewan — and that he wants us to be more like Alberta.
He said Saskatchewan is "certifiable" and that our voting patterns are "insanity."
- Brad Wall: Calgary Speech, November 25, 2004

Do we really want a Premier that dislikes our province?

Brad Wall doesn’t get that Saskatchewan is not Alberta, and that our  values and outlooks are not always the same. He is so eager to jump in line with Alberta that he advocated blindly joining TILMA, a trade agreement between Alberta and B.C. Before the election, significant public pressure forced him to hide his true agenda.

"If we want to be competitive, Saskatchewan needs to have a place in this trade pact. [TILMA]"
- Sask. Party Leader Brad Wall, Saskatchewan Party News Release, May 1, 2006
